Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky which is Administrative center of Kamchatka has got the name from the names of two packet-boats - “St. Piotr” and “St. Poul” of Bering & Chirikov’s expedition which visited Kamchatka first time in October of 1740. These vessels spent winter in one of the most beautiful harbors of Avachinskaya Bay where the port of the same name has been built later.
Kamchatka bears world-important natural balneological resources. This area in the Far East, where Russia begins from, is astonishing due to its’ primordial various landscapes. According to the decision of UNESCO 27 % of the square of our peninsula, which is a natural museum in a whole, have been signed into the List of The World Cultural and Natural Heritage. A system of regional parks for ecological tourism including Nalychevsky, Bystrinsky, Yuzhno-Kamchatsky Parks has been organized. There are several ethnological cultural centers organized for visitors they could be aquatinted to traditions of indigenous people in Esso, Milkovo Settlements ect.
